A.18 The Salish Sea Project
Sealife Productions will present two 25 minute features. The first film on soft substrate was filmed in Holmes Harbor and features a stun ning range of animal diversity and behaviors. The second 25 minute film will feature rocky substrate communities in the Sound to show the abundance and diversity of this habitat.

These films are part of a broader set of natural history documentaries about the Salish Sea -- to show the origin of the area, its habitats and inhabitants above and below the water, man made problems the area faces and efforts that are addressing it, its status and future -- and to present it with a sense of both urgency and hope -- to let us appreciate the amazing life here right now, and to roll up out sleeves and preserve it.

The goal is to make these documentaries as a TV series, then for use in local aquariums and museums, and finally as mass-produced DVD media that integrate pictures from the documentary with a wealth of background information. ( geological origins, the richness of our many ecosystems, the state of the sound, conservation efforts and how we all can help to preserve the unique ecosystems of the Salish Sea), and to make this available to every science teacher in the state.

Come watch these two films and provide your input on the future of the project. Florian Graner
