WSU Island County Beach Watchers are proud to present ...
- A.4 Cool Communities
- On Oct.24, the International Day of Climate Action,
Skagit County Climate Stewards launched a Cool Community Campaign.
Teaming up with others, they held a Cool Climate Cafe
attended by over 150 people.
Those people formed teams to go on the Low Carbon Diet,
using the workbook by David Gershon,
to lose at least 5,000 pounds of carbon by New Year's.
Maribeth, a Climate Steward, helped to launch the campaign and would like
to work with a team to bring that experience to Island County.
Maribeth and Susan will discuss:
what was the strategy for success in Skagit County;
how did it go;
what was the outcome;
how can we be successful in Island County;
and finally,
what more can we learn from Skagit and Island County community organizers.
